Paul Rebeyrolle, * 3.11.1926 Eymoutiers, † 7.2.2005 Côte-d'Or. È stato un pittore francese. Da bambino ha avuto la tubercolosi dell'osso, che ha causato per lunghi periodi di immobilità. Successivamente studiò a Limoges e si unì al Partito comunista francese. Alla fine ha rotto con la festa a causa di eventi legati alla rivoluzione ungherese del 1956. La sua arte è spesso interessata ai paesaggi, ma è caratterizzata da violenza e rabbia. Ha ricevuto elogi da François Pinault, Jean-Paul Sartre, Michel Foucault e altri. Alcuni dei suoi famosi lavori sono chiamati "Frogs" 1966, "Still Life" del 1966 e "Trout" del 1956.

Rebeyrolle ha il suo Museo, "Espace Paul Rebeyrolle", situato vicino al suo luogo di nascita, a Eymoutiers (30 miglia a est di Limoges).

Paul Rebeyrolle (1926-2005) est né à Eymoutiers. Il s’est imposé comme l’un des peintres majeurs dans l’art français du XX^e siècle. Son œuvre, puissante et généreuse, est un appel à la liberté, une révolte contre les injustices, l’oppression, l’aliénation de l’homme et son aveuglement. Elle est aussi un hymne à la beauté violente d’une nature indomptable. Un véritable témoignage de tous les temps.

As a child he had tuberculosis of the bone, which caused for long periods of immobility. Later he studied in Limoges and joined the French Communist Party. He ultimately broke with the party because of events related to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. His art is often concerned with landscapes, but is marked by violence and rage. He received praise from François Pinault, Jean-Paul Sartre, Michel Foucault and others. Some of his famous works are called "Frogs" 1966, "Still Life" 1966, and "Trout" 1956.

Rebeyrolle has his own Museum, the "Espace Paul Rebeyrolle", located near his birthplace, in Eymoutiers (30 miles east of Limoges).
